With Rameder, all bikes are always safe

Bicycles get you around faster. No wonder then that according to the Pressedienst Fahrrad in Germany in 2015 about 72 mn of them travelled no less than 24 bn kilometres. And about 175,000 Germans also wanted to take their bike with them on holiday. In Britain, the situation won’t be completely different. A roof rack needs the right base rack. Not easy to come by if you are left to your own devices. Does your car have an open or closed roof rail, a T-­nut or only a fixed rain drain mounting point? A second carrier for another bike is usually no problem. Three or more is difficult, though, for reasons of space or maximum load. Besides, not everyone can lift their bike up just like that.

Tailgate carriers are a convenient alternative, e.g. the most inexpensive variant from EUR 46 for up to three bikes. This is the right choice for occasional users, but the bicycles will often extrude and catch all the wind. Since this makes them move about, the car’s and bikes‘ paint may be damaged. And the extra aerodynamic drag will make you need more fuel.
